Reflection:  A struggling Master student's previous advisor is no longer in the department.  He requested that I be his new advisor based on the relationship we had formed in class. He realized that he had a lot to do in order to catch up, but felt that together, he would be able to accomplish his goals.

Reflection:  I was asked to serve as a dissertation committee member for a student at Bethel University.  This student needed to consult with someone who has had K-12 administrator experience.

Reflection:  I was asked to co-advise a doctoral student.  The plan is for me to eventually move to becoming his full time advisor.
Objective 2. Serve on the Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Board

Reflection:  I, along with others, crafted a reflection tool to self-assess each department's practices around racial equity. Its purpose is to gauge where departments need to provide embedded curriculum, experiences, and perspectives that adequately reflect our college's commitment to racial equity.
Objective 3. Learn curriculum regarding coaching model for assigned administrators

Reflection:  I used these references (and others) to help coach the administrators that I met with during the Cohort 7 meetings.  What I found most helpful was engaging in conversations and strategies about time management and how to get it all done.
Objective 4. Explore Brightspace D2L

Reflection:  A colleague and I requested that an advanced D2L training be held at the Edina campus to help us hone our skills beyond our previously held basics in order to provide a better experience for students.  John Bayerl spent several hours with us and taught us how to make our use of the D2L platform much more interactive and rigorous. I have had several positive comments from students about what they are able to do as a result of my new learning.
